Steve hates this photo - but says its because its him in the picture and he doesn't like to be perceived as being menacing by nature or character - so I have to assure readers he's not anything like this :P

I on the other hand, really quite like it. I like it more-so because its had very little re-touching done, except to darken a few areas and alter the hue to a red colour. It was taken on our trip out today to Conisbrough Castle, in one of the rather dark rooms of the tower.

Shot quite a number of weeks ago now at Twycross Zoo - but hadn't gotten around to uploading it onto here. As for saying anything more about the image (which to be honest, pretty much speaks for itself) - i'm going to put my lack of intellectual dialogue down to the fact i've been up since 4.45 and working all day so my brain is mush :)

We went for a trip to Skipton Castle last weekend, and to be perfectly honest I was a little disappointed at how much we had to pay to get in, considering how little there was to see there. All the same, I got this shot from the outside that I was quite happy with. The green on the lawn came out very nicely.

This is one of a few "lizard" guys who were in the reptile section at Blue Planet Aquarium. There was also a "Venom" area which had opened up recently, housing some of the deadliest spiders in the world! I can't stand spiders, but I was quite surprised I was happy to get within inches of a Black Widow, and Brazilian Wandering Spider. Its fine if there's a pane of glass between you and them I think ;)

My other half and I went over to Blue Planet Aquarium yesterday on a spur-of-the-moment trip out, and this was one of the shots I came back with.

We are actually undecided as to whether they were real or not - because despite their skin, eyes etc. looking very life-like, they didn't move once whilst we were stood in front of them.

This was a shot I submitted to weeklyshot's theme this week - broken. Its a HDR shot, and I adjusted the sky colour to give it a more forboding feel.
In other news - voting for the blurb book competition has started! If you like my book, please pop over and vote for it.

These penguins were eagerly awaiting to be fed at Twycross Zoo - and when the guy came into their pen with a bucket of fish, there was lots of scrambling to quickly get out of the water and across to him - as you can see here.

A further shot to the ones I got around to post-processing the other day. This is a zebra (yes, obviously I know) at Twycross Zoo.

I also did a photoshoot with a lovely (albeit grizzly) 10 week old James today. I have a few photos of him I may post after i've exhausted the animal album :)

After finally getting a spare evening to go through the photos i've taken over the last few weeks - this is one of my favourites I think, which I shot at Twycross Zoo.

I still have half of them to go through, but i've a few processed shots to keep me going for now which I can update over the next few days or so.

Apologies for slacky updates recently - had a lot going on with new jobs, graduation, being under the weather and such. Hopefully things will return pretty much to normal after next thursday when my big graduation happens at Leeds Met, and this course of anti-biotics is nearly over and done with!

Onto this shot - its an internal from Warwick castle, converted from 3 exposures to HDR, and desaturated to a degree with a B&W overlay layer.
