I managed to get out in the snow today as I had to go to the supermarket.. sadly the walk to the supermarket isn't the most scenic so I only got a few snaps along the way. I shot this as HDR however, and i'm rather pleased with the result. I created 3 layers from the HDR file and made separate B&W layers of them (blue + 2 reds through the channel mixer), then altered and blended each layer separately for different parts of the image. Once i'd done that I realised the whole image seems a little unbalanced and that I didn't physically have enough sky... so I cloned an extra strip of sky onto the top too :P

So, plenty of cheating going on in this one. Hope you like it none-the-less!

  • Absolutely gorgeous processing I love the bluish cold tone and the sense of depth.

  • Love this one Jem, the angle and choice to go mono makes it a very dramatic image indeed. Super work.
